The autonomous robots of Goggo Network already distribute Day orders in Alcobendas

After completing the mapping phase that began in July in Madrid city, for the first time in Spain an autonomous robot will deliver a real order from a supermarket. For this launch, Goggo has the collaboration of a strategic partner such as Dia, thus demonstrating its commitment to innovation and becoming the first retailer in Spain to explore order delivery with an autonomous robot.

Alcobendas thus becomes the first city in Spain and one of the first in Europe in which its citizens will be able to place an order at home with autonomous robots.

As of October 25, 2022, the autonomous robots of Goggo Network, the autonomous mobility company founded by Martin Varsavsky and Yasmine Fage and with operations in Spain and France, will travel the streets of Alcobendas to deliver home orders. In this way, the citizens of Alcobendas will be able to order an order from a local restaurant or supermarket and have it delivered by an autonomous robot to their homes.

For this first commercial launch in Spain, Goggo has teamed up with great collaborators such as Dia, the leader in proximity stores with a strong presence in neighborhoods throughout Spain, and Telepizza, the leading pizza delivery brand in our country with 35 years of experience. history. Two companies that have relied on Goggo Network's last-mile autonomous delivery technology to offer a revolutionary service to their customers in Alcobendas. Thanks to this collaboration, Dia thus becomes the first retailer in Spain to explore order delivery with an autonomous robot, taking another step in the evolution of its e-commerce, which already reaches 1,400 cities in Spain and 33 million users , and that from now on it will have a new form of delivery in Alcobendas. In the case of Telepizza, it is a pilot project for the city of Alcobendas that complements the entire delivery team and will help in times of high demand and on short-distance journeys.

Innovation, latest technology and sustainable mobility at the service of the user

The launch of the operations comes after the successful completion of the pilot phase that began in July in the Madrid town, in which the safety of the service for pedestrians and all citizens was verified. In this way, and since this morning, the first Goggo Network autonomous delivery robots have begun to collect orders from Dia and the Telepizza restaurant to make deliveries to the consumer. These orders are made directly through the app of both collaborators, like any other.

These robots, which are characterized by having the latest technology, including their external sensors (cameras, radars, ultrasound sensors) and internal ones that allow the robot to locate itself and recognize the environment in real time with total precision, thus guaranteeing the maximum security.

The commitment to this type of autonomous distribution promotes the development of cities, both in environmental matters, given that the robots are 100% electric (0 emissions and 0 noise), and in the economic aspect, generating qualified jobs related to the supervision and operation of these robots.

The launch of this operation in Alcobendas marks a milestone in the autonomous logistics sector, since, for the first time, the inhabitants of a Spanish city will be able to enjoy this innovative service.
