This facility will increase operational capacity in the national and European markets, managing up to 200,000 tons of goods and 800,000 shipments per year. With an investment of 14 million euros, the centre will feature advanced technologies and sustainability measures, starting operations, as planned, in January 2026.

Dachser, the German company specialising in logistics and freight transport, has announced the construction of a new state-of-the-art logistics centre in Zaragoza. This new facility, which follows the most modern construction and efficiency standards, will strengthen the company's operational capacity in the national and international market, consolidating Zaragoza as a strategic node for Dachser's logistics in the Iberian Peninsula and Europe.

The new centre, located in the Zaragoza Logistics Platform (Plaza), responds to the high volume of business that the company manages both nationally and in Europe. "This new centre will allow us to manage more shipments and optimise our operations, with more storage capacity, more docks for heavy trucks and an infrastructure designed for future growth," says Moisés Beltran, General Manager of the area at the company.
"With this new investment in Zaragoza, we reaffirm our commitment to innovation, sustainability and the development of infrastructures that allow Dachser to continue leading the European logistics sector. This state-of-the-art logistics center will not only strengthen our operational capacity, but will also be a key driver of local economic growth, connecting Zaragoza with the main international markets in a more efficient and sustainable way," says Celestino Silva, Managing Director European Logistics Iberia at Dachser.

The new center will be built on a 74,788 m² site where Dachser already has a 8,450 m² logistics platform. The new construction will have a constructed area of 12,045 m², including warehouse and offices, a total of 100 loading docks for different types of trucks, as well as 92 parking spaces for swapbodies, 12 waiting spaces for heavy trucks and 86 spaces for passenger cars. The new site allows for future growth of up to 11,700 m² built and 130 additional spaces for swapbodies.

For Octavio López, Regional Minister for Development, Housing, Mobility and Logistics of the Government of Aragon, this new Dachser logistics centre reaffirms “the interest that Plaza and Aragon as a whole arouse for international companies is increasing, which means that we are doing things well in terms of logistics, that we are consolidating and that we have great opportunities to continue growing and continue attracting investments that generate wealth, development and employment.”

The facility will have the most advanced technology for license plate control. A sorter will also be implemented for the efficient classification of orders, thus improving the productivity of the centre. In terms of sustainability, Dachser has opted to incorporate solar panels and aerothermal systems for the supply of hot water. In addition, the new facility, designed in terms of efficient architecture, will have low-consumption LED lighting, reflecting the company's commitment to reducing its environmental footprint.

A key node for European logistics

This new logistics centre will be essential to improve the coordination of imports to the Iberian Peninsula and exports to the rest of Europe. From Zaragoza, Dachser manages direct routes to France, Germany and Italy, with additional connections to the Nordic countries through Germany. Currently, the facility has the capacity to manage more than 200,000 tons of goods and more than 800,000 shipments per year, with plans to increase its capacity by 50% in the next three years, according to statements by Moisés Beltrán. This infrastructure positions Zaragoza as a strategic point for international trade.

Currently, Dachser employs 400 people in Zaragoza, but with the new centre an increase of 100 employees is expected in the next three years. This expansion will not only contribute to the economic growth of the region, but will also strengthen Dachser's position as a key player in European logistics. Operations are expected to begin in January 2026.
