Dachser integrates five new electric vehicles for distribution in the northern and central areas of Madrid
The implementation of these new units for last-mile delivery substantially strengthens the project and commitment to emission-free deliveries that Dachser has initiated in the Spanish capital since 2022. The new units manufactured by JAC Motors have a real autonomy of up to 230 kilometers, making daily deliveries and collections from Dachser's central warehouses in Coslada to the most central areas of Madrid, thus contributing to improving air quality and reducing noise pollution in the city.

DACHSER Emission-Free Delivery is an environmentally friendly urban distribution concept from the logistics multinational Dachser, which is now gaining strength in Madrid and incorporating five new zero-emission electric trucks into its local distribution fleet.
The first 100% electric truck for urban distribution at Dachser Iberia arrived in Madrid in mid-2022. Now five new electric trucks of the iJAC model are added with a range of 230 km, a payload of 3 tons and capacity for up to 10 Euro pallets. To proceed with the electric charging of these vehicles, Dachser has installed charging stations at its facilities in Madrid where the new units can be recharged with 100% renewable energy in just 4 hours, which will allow them to circulate throughout the day carrying out several loads for both delivery and collection.
As part of the logistics operator's DACHSER Emission-Free Delivery concept, these 100% electric vehicles will make daily deliveries in the center of Madrid, leaving from Dachser's central warehouses located in the municipality of Coslada. Sharing parcel and pallet deliveries to stores or private recipients, the blue and yellow Dachser trucks will circulate every day of the week.
“In the face of the growing challenges of climate change, it is essential to use sustainable transport alternatives. That is why we trust in the power and usefulness of electric vehicles for our local distribution,” says Celestino Silva, Managing Director European Logistics Iberia at Dachser. “The local emission-free urban deliveries that we carry out under the DACHSER Emission-Free Delivery concept both in the city center of Madrid and in Porto and, in the future, in Barcelona and Malaga, effectively contribute to reducing CO2 emissions, improving air purity and reducing noise pollution from traffic. With each electric truck we add to our fleet, we pave the way for a more sustainable future, so our goal is to continue incorporating these vehicles into our Iberia fleet,” concludes the manager.
Creating a sustainable future
Dachser has been practicing specific environmental protection for years and supports the climate goals of the global net-zero emissions community through its own comprehensive climate protection strategy "DACHSER Climate Protection", which considers the specific requirements of an integrated logistics network. Its climate protection strategy consists of four fields of action: process efficiency, energy efficiency, research and innovation and Corporate Citizenship.
Part of this strategy is DACHSER Emission-Free Delivery, an initiative that was launched in December 2018 in the German city of Stuttgart, and through which Dachser manages the delivery of goods in defined areas of urban centers solely with electric vehicles that do not release air pollutants or greenhouse gases locally and also generate less noise emissions.
So far, emission-free delivery zones have been established in 16 European metropolitan cities, including Madrid and Porto. Eleven more cities – Amsterdam, Barcelona, Dublin, London, Malaga, Rotterdam, Toulouse and Warsaw – will be gradually added by the end of 2025. Dachser received a Federal Sustainable Urban Logistics Award in Germany for this concept in the "Federal Sustainable Urban Logistics Competition" in 2018.
