Dachser Rheine expands its logistics and distribution capacity

El operador de transThe transport and logistics operator Dachser has just announced the expansion of its capacity in the city of Rheine, in northwestern Germany, in order to create more storage space and offer value-added services in this region. The construction of the new distribution center is already underway and it is expected to start operating in October 2020. With a logistics terminal of 20,800 m2, 26 loading bays for trucks and more than 36,800 spaces for pallets, the new center will also have with about 1,200 m2 of office area.

With these new, modern facilities in Rheine, Dachser will consolidate the existing business, while ensuring additional capacity for future growth. This will allow the logistics operator to optimize transport flows and operating conditions. The new distribution center will serve customers from different sectors, such as the manufacturing industry, the health, hardware, gardening and DIY sectors or the textile trade. In addition to the storage, collection and dispatch of goods, Dachser will provide high value-added services, such as the preparation of exhibitors, repackaging services, special labeling, assembly work or returns management, according to the requirements established with the client.

Strategic location

“In the warehousing market sector, we are seeing continued growth and increasing demand in this region,” explained Markus Dodt, General Manager of the Dachser Rheine logistics center. "A strong local economy, the availability of skilled workers and favorable transport connections are conditions that make Rheine and the entire Münster district an ideal location for the development of integrated logistics services."

Dachser has been present in Rheine since 1990 and currently has 390 employees, 60 of whom will begin to develop their activities in the new logistics center, where 60 new jobs will also be created in the medium term.
