Dachser transports the new stained glass windows of Big Ben

  • Glashuette Lamberts Big Ben glass.

From Bavaria to London: Dachser has been the company chosen to transport the new stained glass windows of London's iconic Big Ben, one of the most iconic buildings in the entire country. The panels have been made by the German glass manufacturer Glashütte Lamberts, based in Bavaria (South Germany).

The world famous Elizabeth Tower, better known as Big Ben, is currently under reconstruction and the clock is expected to ring again in 2021. As a curiosity, the four striking clock faces, each seven meters in diameter, are those that give rise to the name "Clock Tower" of this monument.

The renovation work on the clock faces will be carried out using glass plates from Waldassen, the Upper Palatinate region of Germany, where the company Glasshütte Lamberts faithfully reproduces the dials of the "Clock Tower", with the hand-made of more than 1,300 glass plates.
