A worldwide culinary show that pays tribute to Asturias, it will be held from March 11 to 27 and will bring together a selection of the best restaurants that will offer menus with Asturian bean stew or verdinas. This appointment pays tribute to the dishes that are part of our culinary history and also of our future.

On March 20, #FabadaDay, World Fabada Day, is celebrated, with journalists, bloggers and friends of the fabada and verdinas, and their gastronomic proposals. The largest edition in its history brings together 104 restaurants in Europe, America, Asia and Oceania

The Route of La Fabada and Las Verdinas, with seven editions behind it, three of them worldwide, reaches its eighth year of celebration with record figures, having registered more than 100 restaurants from all over the world. It is celebrated from March 11 to 27 all over the world.

It is a tribute to the Asturian bean stew and verdinas as dishes that are part of our culinary history and also of our future. A recognition of two of the most emblematic dishes in Spanish gastronomic history, and during the days of its celebration, Asturians, wherever they are, share them with the rest of the world to celebrate, beyond recipes and ingredients, the international dimension of the fabas and verdinas of Asturias.

This year the dates of celebration, usually in February, have had to be delayed to March due to the pandemic. For this reason, and with the aim of promoting activity in the restaurant sector, the Ruta de La Fabada y Las Verdinas will take place from March 11 to 27, celebrating #Fabadaday, World Fabada Day, on March 20 at the Llagar de Viella, Cider House Restaurant, in the council of Siero, Asturias.

This 8th edition organized by the events and communication company Nacho Sandoval Strategies and Marketing is sponsored by Camín Astur and Pagos del Rey, with the collaboration of the Oviedo City Council, the Association of Hospitality and Tourism of Asturias, OTEA and Moscovitas de Rialto.

All the participants are geolocated on Google Maps, forming a digital gastromap with their data and gastronomic proposals that can be consulted through the web and through the official social networks of the Fabada Route; Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. The restaurants offer different menus whose main dish will be the Asturian fabada, fabes with stumbles or verdinas.

More than 100 registered restaurants

Thanks to the success of previous editions, 16 premises have participated since the first edition in 2015, and this year there are 104 restaurants spread over five continents.

The largest presence, with 55 registered restaurants, is in Asturias, another 22 restaurants in Madrid, 8 in Castilla y León, 3 in Andalusia, 2 in the Balearic Islands, 2 distributed between Castilla-La Mancha and the Canary Islands. At an international level there are 14 participating restaurants between America, Asia and Oceania, in what is the largest edition to date.

Since 2017, the UN celebrates World Pulses Day every February 10. Despite the fact that the health authorities consider them "basic food" to maintain a healthy diet, in Spain we are far from the world average of consumption of about 21 grams per person/day, that is, 5.7 kg per person per year, according to the FAO.

All the information about the participating restaurants and their elaborations are available on the website www.rutadelafabada.com and through the official social networks of the Ruta de la fabada; Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
