Catalonia leads this industry, accounting for 41% of national turnover. Furthermore, it has established itself as a leading exporter of bridal fashion, with a strong international presence. In 2022, nearly 920,000 wedding dresses were produced in the country, 80% of which were exported, generating €670 million. This places Spain as the second-largest exporter in the world by volume, behind only China, and the absolute leader in the high-end segment, where the design, craftsmanship, and quality of its fabrics stand out.
77% of Spanish bridal products are exported to European countries, with Italy, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Portugal being the main destinations. Beyond the continent, the United States and Mexico stand out for their purchasing volume and their relevance in the affordable luxury segment. On the other hand, the Asia-Pacific region, with emerging markets such as Japan, South Korea, and Southeast Asia, is showing a growing demand for exclusive and sophisticated designs, an area in which Spanish bridal fashion offers a clear competitive advantage.
In this context, Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week, the benchmark bridal fashion event, closed last April with the participation of 450 brands from 32 countries and the shows of 44 national and international designers who showcased wedding dresses, evening gowns, red carpet dresses, and accessories on the runway, anticipating the major trends of 2026, not only in fashion but also in makeup and hairstyling.
The 2026 Bride
Nature is the common thread running through many of the 2026 bridal collections. Embroidered flowers, 3D appliqués, botanical textures, and organic tones dominate designs that connect with spirituality, roots, and renewal.

The color palette ranges from snow white, ivory, and blush, but also includes lavender, terracotta, wine, green, and metallic touches. The noble fabrics—silk, crepe, tulle, taffeta, among others—speak of quiet luxury and artisanal quality.
Makeup, Enhanced Skin, Contoured Lips, and Fearless Shine
Xabier Rodrigues, National Artist Iberia for MAC Cosmetics, responsible for the makeup for the Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week runway, states that "The makeup trend for brides in 2026 emphasizes enhancing, not covering up." Brown, tan, and nude tones are emerging as favorites due to their closeness to natural skin tones and their ability to achieve the coveted "healthy complexion effect."
Blush is making a strong comeback as a star ally in bridal looks. Far from being a simple touch of color, it defines the face and adds freshness. On the eyes, cream textures combined with powder shadows guarantee longevity and dimension, with brown, gray, and black taking center stage in subtle or smoky shades.
The eyelids don't shy away from shine. Dewy finishes, sparkles, and even glitter appear reinterpreted with sophistication. On the lips, toasted pinks and browns are worn with visible lip liner and a creamy finish. And for those who break the rules: there's also room for intense colors, artistic lines, and bold designs that celebrate diversity.
Hairstyles: Elegant and Natural
In 2026, we'll see hairstyles that respect the natural texture of hair and complement it with subtlety. Loose hair with casual waves, with lots of texture, simulating a natural mane. Another trending hairstyle is the Italian updo, adapted to the natural style we see today, with texture and some loose but controlled ends.
