Open the registration period for the I CONTEST "THE BEST COD OF SPAIN" with the best Dishes and Tapas

In this I edition, it is expected that more than 100 restaurants from all over Spain will participate, offering dishes and tapas made with cod from extractive fishing, with lines and hooks.

  • Zamora is synonymous with excellence in the quality of its products, and for centuries, Cod has been an emblematic dish of the province, in its different preparations.
  • It will be the first National Gastronomic Award that can be held in person due to the pandemic.
  • At the same time, the 1st edition of the Cod Days in Zamora will be held, from September 25 to October 4, where the restaurateurs of the province of Zamora will prepare a dish, tapas or menu based on cod, paired with good wine from DO. Toro, DO. Arribes, DO. Tierra del Vino and PDO. Valleys of Benavente.
  • In this I edition of the Jornadas del Bacalao in Zamora, customers who visit the participating restaurants and share a photo of a cover or plate with a glass and bottle from any of the participating DOs, will participate in large raffles.

In this unique environment, the Provincial Council of Zamora, Bacalaos El Barquero, Caja Rural de Zamora and the events and communication company, Nacho Sandoval Estrategias and Marketing, call for the 1st edition of the "Best Cod in Spain" contest and the 1st Conference of the cod in Zamora.

Today opens today the registration period for the I edition of the "Best Cod in Spain" contest for dishes and tapas throughout the Spanish territory, in which the organization expects more than 100 restaurants from all over Spain to participate, offering dishes and tapas made with cod from extractive fishing, with lines and hooks.
