The Peix i Brases and Solleiros restaurants win the first prizes in the 1st contest The Best Cod in Spain.

Zamora, synonymous with excellence in the quality of its products, cod in its different varieties being the emblematic dish of the province, has presented the prizes in the 1st contest "The Best Cod in Spain".

The Galician restaurant Solleiros wins the first prize in the traditional category, while the Alicante restaurant Peix i Brases wins the same award in the avant-garde category.

In this first edition of the contest, more than 200 restaurants from all over Spain have participated offering dishes and tapas made with cod from extractive fishing, with lines and hooks.

At the same time, the 1st edition of the Author's Codfish Conference is taking place in Zamora. From September 25 to October 4, restaurateurs in the province of Zamora are preparing a dish, tapas or menu based on cod, paired with good DO wine. Toro, DO. Arribes, DO. Tierra del Vino and PDO. Valleys of Benavente.
