Korean Cultural Center in Spain brings Korean gastronomy and culture to Palo Market Fest 2024
The Korean Cultural Center in Spain will present a Korean food truck at Palo Market Fest (Barcelona) on November 16 and 17, as well as workshops and performances.
The Korean Cultural Center in Spain will participate in the special mid-November edition of the Palo Market Fest, which will be held on November 16 and 17 in Barcelona. This time, the event will feature a food truck offering authentic Korean street food, a unique opportunity to enjoy the flavors of Korea in the heart of the city.
Korea's participation in this event is enriched by the presence of prominent collaborators. South Korean writer Sohn Mina, author of the book: "Spain, you are freedom", with which she achieved a record sales as a bestseller, with more than 500,000 copies sold, students from the Culinary Institute of Barcelona: Jieun Lee, Rafael Estrada and the soloist dancer of the National Ballet of Spain, Yaegee Park, will be active in promoting Korean gastronomy and culture. The preparation of the dishes on a large scale will be carried out in collaboration with a local food and beverage company in Spain, working closely with local collaborators throughout the planning and operation process.
Palo Market Fest: a creative hub in Barcelona
Palo Market Fest is a cultural event held on the first weekend of every month in a unique space in Barcelona, located in a rehabilitated 19th-century factory in the Palo Alto area. This creative market has become a cultural landmark, a meeting point for city residents and visitors, offering a wide variety of fashion, design, beauty and organic gastronomy products, along with a carefully selected food truck. In this special November edition, the Korean food truck will add an international flavour to the event's already diverse gastronomic offering.
Music, workshops and entertainment
At Palo Market Fest, visitors will be able to enjoy a variety of musical genres thanks to local DJs and live performances by emerging bands and local musicians. These performances are sponsored by Moritz Barcelona and Aperol. In the mid-November edition, LPs by Korean artists provided by the Korean Cultural Centre will also be played. In addition, an origami workshop sponsored by Font Vella will be held, open to those over 5 years old and available from 12:00 to 16:00.
Korean food truck menu
The Korean food truck will offer a diverse and delicious menu that will include:
Eonyang style bulgogi (rice with marinated meat)
Yangnyeum chicken (spicy fried chicken)
Kimbap (Korean style rice rolls)
Tteokbokki with black bean sauce (jjajang) (rice cakes)
Fried kimchi
Dalgona (traditional Korean sweet) for dessert
This is the perfect occasion to take a journey of flavors and discover Korean cuisine without leaving Barcelona.
