Solidarity cookout for more than 200 disadvantaged people on March 4: World Fabada Day

The weekend of March 4, #FabadaDay was celebrated, World Fabada Day which provides international recognition to Asturian fabada. This act has been taking place since February 2015 together with the Fabada Route and the "#FabadaDay, World Fabada Day", (trademarks registered in the OEPM in class 41), with a very good reception among neighbors, tourists and restaurateurs.

As every year on that date, solidarity is the main objective that surrounds these days, and different deliveries of Solidarity Fabadas were organized in Madrid, among friendly restaurants on the Ruta de la Fabada and Las Verdinas.

Specifically this 2023, the potas prepared for the soup kitchens, accompanied by a good amount of compango, allowed up to 200 servings of Asturian fabada to be brought to those who needed it.

On March 3 at 8:00 p.m. in the Church of San Antón, with the participation of the priest Ángel García Rodríguez (Father Ángel), the event was presented with a Solidarity fabada, which was delivered to whoever needed it.

The Fabada Route and #FabadaDay, World Fabada Day, is a recognition of one of the most emblematic dishes in Spanish gastronomic history, dishes that are part of our culinary history and also of our future and during the days of its celebration, the Asturians share their great dish with the rest of the world to celebrate, beyond recipes and ingredients, the international dimension of fabas.

It is an important boost to the activity of the restaurant sector, organized by the events and communication company Nacho Sandoval Estrategias and Marketing, sponsored by Camín Astur and Pagos del Rey, and the collaboration of Rialto confectionery and Oviedo City Council.
